eLearning has been advised of a default test option that allows students to view each question on a test after it has been submitted. The default setting is “Score Per Question” and is listed under “Show Test Results and Feedback to Students” in the Test Options. This has allowed students who have completed the test to access their submitted test and view the questions and in some cases those students are allowing students who have not taken the test to view the questions on the test. To remove this feature you will need to uncheck this option when deploying the test (unless you wish for students to be able to see the text for each question after submission). The image below shows where you need to uncheck to remove this option.

At this time, there is no way to remove this as a default so we wanted to make you aware that it is there. Blackboard has created an enhancement request on our behalf to ensure product development sees our desire for the functionality to remove this as a default.

SafeAssign Lag in Blackboard

Please be advised that there was recently a SafeAssign issue on October 18th. This problem resulted in slowness in returning SafeAssign reports. While this problem has been resolved and all Originality reports should have been processed at this time, we just wanted to make you all aware of this issue. Following is a message from Blackboard containing additional details:

On October 18th, 2015, Blackboard SafeAssign began experiencing slowness in returning Originality Reports to Blackboard Assignments with SafeAssign enabled. The Blackboard Team was made aware of the issue on October 20th, and on October 21st, implemented a fix to the SafeAssign Central Service to remedy the issue.

As of the writing of this bulletin, nearly all Originality Reports have been processed and returned to end users' Assignment submissions. We expect the SafeAssign service to be performing fully within 4-6 hours of this bulletin being published.

As always, please feel free to contact eLearning Services should you have any questions or concerns, or if you continue to experience slowness in returning originality reports.

Reminder - Fall 2015 Course Sites

This is a reminder that your Fall 2015 Blackboard course sites will be created 45 days before the start date of the course. You must be listed as the instructor on record in Owl Link for this to occur.

New Procedure for Merging Course Enrollments in Blackboard

Effective immediately, The self-service “Merge Course Enrollments” tool in Blackboard is no longer working or supported.

Therefore, we are transitioning to an alternative course enrollment merge tool. The new tool is not self-service, and must be activated by eLearning staff.

To have your course enrollments merged, you must submit a “Merge Course Enrollment” request via Blackboard. eLearning staff will perform the merge and send you an email when the process is completed. The form can be found in Blackboard via the ‘My eLearning’ tab (login tab) and is viewable only by faculty.

1. Click on the link for the Merge Course Enrollment request form.
2. Enter all requested information in the form fields, then click Submit. If you are requesting more than 2 'child' courses, please submit an additional form. You will receive an email from eLearning once your request has been processed.
3. After your request has been processed, the 'child' courses will be marked as unavailable and will list which course it is a child to.
    
4. If you go into edit the child course, you will see a notification at the top of the screen that says this course is the unavailable child course. Modifications to this course will not be seen by students.

Enjoy Your Spring Break!

In observance of Spring Break, PGCC will be closed March 30 - April 5, with classes resuming on April 6h. Online faculty and students will have access to Blackboard, but the campus will be closed.

On Monday, March 30th, 6:30am - 4:00pm, there may be occasional network outages or slowness due to maintenance. Please be patient if you notice Blackboard interruptions during that time.
